The Inn, which gave its name to the village stands at one of the great traditional crossroads of Ireland. The Inn is located in an area with rich limestone land and a clean environment therefore making the perfect ingredients for the local horse industry. It has several of Ireland\'s leading racecourses and training establishments close by. The Horse and Jockey Inn hosts a number of memorabilia to the Industry and its sport. The Horse and Jockey Inn has just completed an extensive renovation and is now pleased to offer all its customers state of the art facilities with comfort and ease.rnrnThe Horse and Jockey Inn has been continuously trading for over 250 years. The Horse and Jockey Inn Hotel today stands out as a splendid example of progression, of enterprise, in a local community of imaginative vision for tomorrow and a pride and respect for the generations before them. rnrnAcross the fields of unspoiled pastureland from the Inn lies Derrynaflan, where on of the medieval treasures of Ireland and Europe, The Derrynaflan Hoard was discovered in the 1980\'s. This is now on display in the National Museum of Ireland. According to ancient Irish legend, Derrynaflan, an island of fertile land in the middle of The Bog of Allan, was the home of the Gobaun Saor, the architect and builder of some of Ireland\'s (and Britain\'s) great ancient stone structures. rnrn
