The Midlands National is a July highlight and Bank of Ireland sponsor a major hurdle race, also Max Premium Dog Food sponsor a Handicap Steeplechase during the season whilst Thornton Recycling sponsors a feature chase in May, attracting hundreds to the racing the Irish love best, National Hunt. The only racecourse in Ireland where all races are over jumps under National Hunt Rules. The friendship and atmosphere gives Kilbeggan the edge over other events. The neighbourly attitude makes it even easier for visitors to join in and savour the excitement of real racing enjoyment.
